After recently helping friends Jason and Jennette Cross find a nice mid-century home in Allandale, I knew a remodel was in the works. What I didn’t know was how stunning the turn-around would be. Jason, an architect, has a no nonsense approach to design that really transcends typical use of light and space. Jason explained that replacing the drywall with polycarbonate allows for more ambient light to flow through the house and has a fire rating of 1. The polycarbonate(Polygal) was installed in differing thickness(10mm and 6mm) on each side to “prevent complete transparency but allow for spectral diffusion”. Beautifully finished with light maple flooring and squared trim and baseboards, this is “a step away from classical essentialist arrangement and towards a more honest organic design”.
